Part 7: The Queen's Fall The Last Queen of Kigali: A Memoir of Ancient Kano

The Queen's Fall

The people of Kigali had been living in peace and prosperity under the rule of Queen Nana for many years. But all of that changed when a powerful warlord from the neighboring kingdom of Kano invaded. The Kano army was led by a powerful warrior named Umaru, who had been sent by the Kano king to conquer Kigali and bring it under Kano's rule.

Umaru and his army quickly overwhelmed the Kigali forces and soon the city was under Kano's control. Queen Nana was taken prisoner and brought to Kano, where she was forced to live in exile.

The people of Kigali were devastated by the loss of their beloved queen. They had grown accustomed to her wise and just rule, and now they were left to fend for themselves in a hostile new land.

Umaru was appointed the new ruler of Kigali, and he quickly set about implementing his own laws and customs. He was a cruel and oppressive ruler, and the people of Kigali soon found themselves living in fear and poverty.

Queen Nana was determined to reclaim her throne and restore peace and prosperity to her people. She began to secretly gather a small army of loyal followers and began to plan her return to Kigali.

One night, Queen Nana and her army snuck into the city and launched a surprise attack on Umaru's forces. The Kano army was quickly overwhelmed and Umaru was forced to flee.

Queen Nana was triumphant and the people of Kigali rejoiced at her return. She quickly set about restoring order and justice to the city.

But Umaru was not finished yet. He returned to Kano and gathered a larger army, determined to reclaim Kigali for Kano. Queen Nana and her forces were no match for Umaru's larger army and she was quickly defeated.

Umaru returned to Kigali and took control of the city once again. Queen Nana was never seen again, and the people of Kigali mourned her loss.

The people of Kigali never forgot their beloved Queen Nana and her brave attempt to reclaim their city. To this day, she is remembered as the Last Queen of Kigali.
