The next morning, the detective and his assistant set out to investigate the mysterious diamond. They began by visiting the jewelry store where the diamond had been purchased. The store owner was very helpful and provided them with a detailed description of the diamond and the customer who had bought it. He also gave them a copy of the receipt for the purchase.
The detective and his assistant then went to the customer's home. They knocked on the door, but no one answered. After a few minutes, they decided to take a look around the house. They noticed that the windows were all closed and the curtains were drawn. It was clear that no one was home.
The detective and his assistant searched the house for clues. They found nothing of interest, except for a strange symbol carved into the wall. It was a triangle with a circle in the middle. The detective had seen this symbol before, but he couldn't remember where.
The detective and his assistant then decided to visit the local museum. They asked the curator if he had ever seen the symbol before. He told them that it was an ancient symbol of protection. He also said that it was often used to ward off evil spirits.
The detective and his assistant thanked the curator and left the museum. They were no closer to solving the mystery of the cursed diamond, but they had at least found a clue. Now they just had to figure out what it meant.
