The Oracle of Ile-Ife had been consulted by many people over the years, but none had ever asked for her blessing. So when the young prince of Ile-Ife, Olu, came to her with a request, she was intrigued.
Olu explained that he had fallen in love with a beautiful woman from a neighboring village and wanted to marry her. He asked the Oracle for her blessing so that their union would be blessed by the gods.
The Oracle was pleased to hear of Olu's love and agreed to give him her blessing. She told him that if he was true to his love, then the gods would bless their union and they would have a long and happy life together.
The Oracle also warned Olu that if he was ever unfaithful to his love, then the gods would punish him and his beloved. Olu thanked the Oracle for her blessing and promised to be true to his love.
The Oracle smiled and gave Olu her blessing. She told him that if he kept his promise, then the gods would grant him and his beloved a long and happy life together.
Olu thanked the Oracle and left, feeling blessed and hopeful for the future. He and his beloved were married soon after and went on to have a long and happy life together.
